The Purple Martin house at the south end of Grenadier Pond was cleaned out on April 14 by volunteers led by David Creelman, in preparation for this year’s arrivals. Last year there were several successful nests, and hopefully this year will be just as good. Several returning Purple Martins have already been seen setting up house!

This is a busy time for migratory birds that rest and feed in High Park before continuing their journey north, and for others that are settling down to breed here.
