Considering its location in the heart of Canada’s largest city, High Park continues supports a remarkable variety of wildlife. This diversity is due to the park’s large size, location near wildlife corridors, and varied habitats.

Mammals of High Park - currently about 18 species, including bats.

Birds of High Park - 267 species of birds are known to have occurred in High Park. Well over 150 species are regularly seen and more than 50 species breed in the park.

Herps - Amphibians and Reptiles - currently about 9 species:

Fish - currently 12 species
